My name is Judy Nelson and I am a 61 year grandmother.  I started working out with Andy on the advice of my son, Jonathan.  He had been training with Andy for several months and noticed a remarkable transformation in not only his physical body, but also in his mental health.  I started in January 2007 on a regular basis of about three days a week—including Saturday Killer Workouts.  My main concerns were core strength, flexibility, and balance—with a hopeful benefit of better muscle tone.  Since beginning my regiment I have watched all areas of my health change for the better.  My original goals were reached quickly with Andy’s help and with our January 2009 Weight Loss Challenge I have kept off ten pounds with another ten this year as a 2010 goal.   My glucose level from 2/08 of 131 has gone down to 107 on 1/10.  I have had similar success in my cholesterol level of 244 down to 200.  Not only has my stamina increased probably ten fold, but I have gone from not being able to do one push up to doing Burpees with a smile. My name is Jillian Foss and I am 22 years old. I have been training with Andy at Hollistic Performance for the last 5 years. When I began with Andy, he would train us at the once karate studio. When I first met Andy 3 years ago, I needed to get in shape fast. I have always been an active person and thought that I was in pretty decent shape, but after that first Saturday class I thought I was going to die.  I continued the workouts and moved it up to 2-3 individual sessions a week in addition to the Saturday class. Thoughts on burpees...
Since working out with Andy, burpees have become my friend.
When I turned 40 a bunch of 25 year-old boys at the gym saw me doing burpees and we're impressed. I said, "Not bad for a 40-year old, right". They said, "40!!!! We thought you were 25!!!!"
So remember, workout with Andy and 40 really will be the new 25!
Thoughts on pullups....
When I was about to turn 40 I decided that a good birthday goal would be to do the first pullup of my life. I had never been able to do one before, not even as a child.
So I started training with Andy regularly.
When I turned 40 I was able to do 2 consecutive pullups.
Last month, after my 42 birthday, our workout consisted of 100 pullups.
Granted, they weren't consecutive and many were assisted, but to paraphrase... we've come a long way, baby!
It would have never been possible without Andy!
Thoughts on pushups...
Regular ones are too easy now.
We're working on clapping pushups and one-armed pushups.
I used to be able to do 2 pushups.
There is no such thing as girl pushups anymore!
